Dance steps…

Interesting insights from volunteering service with teenage groups at local hospital. As grown-ups, we approach children with ideas about what we can teach them about life. It’s true we have important wisdom to convey. But, children teach us just as much as we teach them.

They are so positive, fresh to the world. Far less burdened with pre-conceived  perspectives. Fascinated for hours over just a boiling pot, utterly unself-conscious with creative expressions.

Immersed in the moment. An unknowing, curious state of being. Enables a state of natural spontaneity, enthusiasm that adults often have a hard time accessing due to mundane responsibilites.

Interacting with kids makes us more self-aware, automatically perceive stuff differently when we look, listen, think, feel, respond, follow their leads. Don’t lapse into complex roles as director of activities, just surrender to simplicity.

As we allow kids to determine flow of play, get pulled deeper into mysteries of present moments. In this beautiful place we become so innocent again, let go of ego, stress. They teach us how to evolve gracefully, graciously, generously.
Learning new, amusing, teeny dance steps from these adorable little gurus. A few serene moments.
