Following wildlife articles – Asia is a major hot-bed for illegal activities in wildlife trade like poaching.
Rhinos are slaughtered at a horrific rate to meet need for horns. Elephants are murdered for ivory. Tigers are hunted for alleged aphrodisiacal powers. Millions of Sharks are mutilated, fins hacked off while still alive for shark fin soup. 1000’s of Asiatic Black Bears are kept in cramped cages, machines suck out bile for use in traditional medicine. Dogs are callously killed for meat.
Sights, sounds, smells of hideous places where animal’s are cruelly kept. Wildlife is disappearing faster than it can be saved. Habitat loss, poaching, conflict has caused so many beautiful species lose battle for survival. Forests are being decimated, affecting eco-systems as plants, animals die.
Believe the voice for protection, conservation must come from within Asia – government’s, citizen’s must be willing, driven to bring a positive, passionate change.
