Wow! Think, self-confidence. As an introvert, perfectly happy dancing before the mirror, singing in the shower, writing a secret journal.
During college, a theatre production came to town for auditions. Lead role, a celestial dancer. Mom pushed hard to try, reluctant. Didn’t really believe I could.
Anyways, auditions happened with over 200 dancers in the pool. Next day on call, ‘please come back, we need to talk’. Intriguing, interesting. No, intimidating!
‘We’ve selected you for lead role!’. Stunned, was it a dream? Utter disbelief, dread.
Me: ‘Why do you want me? Why me?’ Frightened. Flustered.
Director: ‘Because you were naturally good. Connected well with audience’.
Me: Frantic. ‘I have no experience, never danced on a big stage. Please select someone else. Unsure how I will perform’. Literally, made all possible excuses to change their mind. Failed, wasn’t fun.
Director: Stoic. Stubborn. ‘I want you. We’ll work together on confidence. Trust abilities’.
Me: No, WTF! Run. Terrified. Tortured.
Ultimately, somehow did perform as expected. Thrilled about overcoming insecurity. The only way to boost self-confidence is to put ourselves out there!
Still, humbly working on it. Honestly, quite scary.
Whhen someone writes an pece of writing he/she retains the thought of a user in his/her mind
that howw a user can understand it. So that’s why this paragraph is amazing.
