Email: Are you against structure at work? Focus on flow? (Indonesia)
Absolutely not. Tough to survive, progress without some kind of strategy, planning, discipline, grounding, balance, milestone, security. Though, we can still flow in structure, retain fluidity!
There are times when our structured day ends without realisation. So engaged working our brains but still feel content, a sense of satisfaction. This complete immersion is being in a state of flow.
Essentially, flow happens when we’re in the ‘zone’. Fully, deeply ‘in the moment’. Engaging in things where our sense of self disappears from consciousness, a kind of void (e.g. playing music, painting). A unique concentrated set of fulfiling experiences.
Intent, awareness merge together. A loss of attention on time, experiencing immensely rewarding activities. Doing stuff holding intrinsic value, worth pursuing. Clear goals inspire, provide structured targets to achieve, in a state of flow.
