Rear-view…

Email: Regret quitting my job so much. Struggle to find a new one. (US)

Sometimes, our past reads like a great check-list on what not to do, ways not to be, ideas we didn’t act upon. But, we still have the present to learn, future to evolve, transform. When we look back with compassion, knowledge of what we know now, find it difficult to understand how we made such crazy mistakes!

Because once we learn the lessons, access new informations, gather fresh insights, share unique assessments, understand diverse perspectives it’s nearly impossible to re-enter previous head-spaces. Life can only be understood backwards, it must be lived forwards.

In many ways, it’s exactly as it should be, law of nature. Can only learn from living experiences, exposures, challenges  – data, analysis, intuitive wisdom, belief that guides in the now. Difficult roads can lead to delightful destinations.

To live sensitively, peacefully, playfully, completely it’s worth remembering once we know better, we tend to do better. While it’s true from perspectives of the present, best efforts in the past didn’t seem good enough, can still give selves benefit of doubt, some tender loving, forgiveness.

Beyond this, we serve greater good most effectively, energetically by not dwelling in rear-view mirrors, regretting, under-valuing, criticising self. Instead, re-aligning precious energy, efficiency, enthusiasm, endurance into focused plans towards core aspirations. It is here, in this moment, we can create a fresh reality, a re-defined vision for self.
