Email: Fat body. Feel self-conscious, sad. Bullied at college. (US)
‘To be beautiful means to be yourself. A need to accept yourself’.
We try to give our bodies value with numbers. Obsessed with number on scales, circumference of waists. Think our value lies in labels like ‘overweight’, ‘skinny’, unpleasant triggers. But, we’re more than categories on pie charts. Magazines say we’re all shaped like fruits, but we’re shaped by defining attributes, values, presence, experiences.
Bodies may not be light, but emanate light like glow-worms! We may be soft where told to be hard, toned. Though, it’s softness, kindness, compassion that others want. May not have thigh gaps, but special spaces between our arms for those we love are irreplaceable. Much more than body shapes, is who we are.
We’re hearts that beat with purpose, passion, purity. We’re smiles that radiate, sparkling eyes, serenity in our being. Thoughts we curiously exchange, words we creatively express. Feelings that exhilarate, motivate, stimulate, guide. Mental ability, objectivity that rocks!
Each one is incredibly unique, sets us apart. Designed for a divine plan, a higher calling, potential. Have worth apart from incomes, houses, cars. Have an unwavering, unequivocal, unbelievable innate value.
‘I should look slimmer, should try harder?’ Shouldn’t be something that isn’t, at the moment. No need for perfect selfies! ‘Just as I am’ is good enough. No insecurities, no fears. Accept wobbly bits, curves without self-pity, comparisons.
Seek structured support from fitness experts for manageable, consistent weight loss in balanced ways. Not necessarily for aesthetic value but health, well-being reasons. Also, college counselling on how to deal with bullying successfully? It’s totally unacceptable and forgiveness is biggest virtue.
You are very beautiful, just the way you are! Find your spark, keep smiling 🙂
