Practicality…

Email: Is practicality important, at all? Blog focuses on love. (US)

Good point. Certainly not the intent. Believe, a balanced blend of practicality/emotion, mind/heart, rationality/intuition brings beautiful results. A golden key to hidden treasures. Of course, love doesn’t pay the bills. Love doesn’t pay for house, education, health, leisure either. A basic level of material, practical comfort is essential. Especially in a typical, praise-worthy ‘provider, protector mindset’ of a man. Respect, appreciate.

However, what do we earn for – family, people we care about? When disappointed, love innocently inspires, re-assures. When joyous, love celebrates! When sick, love nurtures. When weak, love is strength. When unhappy, unfulfilled, love is true passion, purpose.

In Indian mythology, most scary God, powerful man is Lord Shiva. Shiva is worshipped as the ‘ultimate man‘ – symbol of supreme masculinity, brute force. He’s also called ‘ardhanarishvara‘.  A form of Shiva – one half man, one half woman.

A  beautiful balance of masculine, feminine energies – divine! Masculine attributes of strength, leadership, truth, protection, prosperity, direction, empowerment, action. The source of all creation. Feminine traits of sensitivity, receptivity, fragility, compassion, generosity, love, nurturance, faith. The source of all nature.

Shiva shed half of himself to innately feel, integrate, unite with his wife, Parvati. Symbolic of natural duality in human nature – Yin/Yang, Sun/Moon, Light/Dark. Also worshipped as ‘Nataraja‘ (God of dance) – perfect dancer!

Ultimately, both energies work purposefully, peacefully together in equal harmony, rhythm, mission to achieve highest potential of success, abundance, bliss.
