One day at work…

Reminiscing unbelievably startling moments at work!

Day 10 at new work-place in London (UK) – 6:00 pm

Thunder, torrential showers. Gazed at pitter-patter out of office windows. Drops of rain like tiny, glittering crystals, musical chimes. Roads turned into small rivulets with muddy patches.

Flash of insight, clear intent – rush out of doors, get totally soaked, drive home for hot cups of tea. Celebrate end of day! Plan put straight into action. Spontaneously splashed in water puddles outside the office. Beautiful rain turned a boring, dreary day into quite a pleasant one.

Drenched to the core, heard familiar ring-tones. Panic-stricken! Called back at work immediately to join an urgent call with MD, BBC (account managed exclusively). A storm brew within. Floated sheepishly into his office. Streams of dirty water dripped from clothes, hair, shoes. Sprinkled on the floor like a gardener’s hose! MD in a state of shock, disbelief. A doomed adventure?

Left office soon after, drove over 100 mph to reach home. Spotted a slow driver ahead in right lane. Desperately attempted to overtake. Screamed a few swear words in the dark with flashing headlights, disgusted.

Next morning, called into MD’s office again? “Did you flash, swear at a driver last evening?” Promptly, “oh yes, super crazy guy”! MD, “well, that was ME”! Stunned silence, speechless. A baby deer caught in headlights!

“Ha ha. You drive at top speed. Race with me one day?” Rolled innocent eyes, dimpled smile!
