TANGO – popular partner social dance! Originated in 1880’s at Río de la Plata, natural border between Argentina, Uruguay. Tango is a hybrid of German Waltz, Czech Polka, Polish Mazurka, Bohemian Schottische, Spanish-Cuban Habanera, African Candombe, Argentinian Milonga.
Tango was originally performed in brothels, bars of sea-ports to entertain patrons. Called ‘Forbidden Dance’! Tango joined UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Lists in 2009.
