Email: Which skill is most difficult to learn? (HK)
Tough question. Guess, giving self an equal level of importance, as we give to others (family, community, work). Somehow feel worthy, empowered enough to listen to inner knowing.
In many ways, we’re taught to give away inherent, innocent identity, sacrifice (e.g. told to hug a relative we didn’t want to!). Learn to overrule inner whispers, right to determine passion, purpose, happiness.
Trend continues in school, work, community. At this point, we may not even know how to hear inner insights, hold inner strength. Giving it away is so naturally engrained. Neglecting pure core life force is conditioned. Been there in early years of life.
It’s possible to humbly assert, exchange positive perspectives to preserve inner wisdom, desires, goals, growth. Begins by listening a little to inner compass, no matter how many times we’re tempted to resist. Other examples of giving away individuality is buying into trends, not voting. Inner balance, calm restores self-belief, assurance, abundance.
As we build a honest, forgiving, compassionate relationship with self, begin to see inspiring horizons where obstacles aren’t insurmountable. Ultimately, a delicate dance of hope, trust between inner, outer worlds, where self-fulfilment is an equal priority, as other roles. Embrace self, embrace otherness with gratitude!
How much of our identity is unconsciously given versus consciously created? What makes you, you? A true, playful mirror reveals!
Surely a skill I’m patiently working on, balancing light/dark in each moment.
