Bhutan – Buddhist kingdom in the Himalayas. Known for it’s beautiful, peaceful monasteries, treasured fortresses (or dzongs), dramatic landscapes ranging from subtropical plains to steep mountains, valleys – hidden gems.
Paro Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest) clings to cliffs, above forested Paro Valley. A surreal, sacred 17th century temple, located on a cliffside. Heart of Bhutan.
Visiting Paro Taktsang Monastery is an unforgettable experience. A unique location, surrounded by majestic mountains, emerald green valleys. Main peculiarity is it’s isolated location is only accessible by tough mountainous paths, an easy 3 hour hike!
Interior design of temple impresses with luxurious beauty – gold-plated dome, flickering lights illuminate golden idols. ‘Hall of Thousand Buddhas’ carved into rock has a large, gorgeous statue of a tiger. Unforgettable.
Plan a travel – blissful.
