Intuition…

Email: Why is it harder to develop intuitive abilities? (US)

A favourite topic. Word ‘intuition‘ stems from Greek word, ‘of or relating to inner self‘. Simply means a kind of natural knowing. E.g, we feel difference between energy in a church, a bar, a beach. Something just ‘feels‘ different. An extra-sensory perception.

We’re all intuitive to varying degrees. Few focus, cultivate, enhance – just like a musical, athletic ability. But, modern forms of education have tended to minimise intuition in favour of intellect. Developing one’s intuitive ability is waking ‘inner knowing’ again. As we use intuition, instincts kick in. Like tuning into higher natural frequencies. We have intuitive equipment, but not everyone’s is activated.

Typically, we spend time in parts of our mind called ‘intellect’, very limited. Like a computer, intellect knows what it’s been programmed to know, can only deal with data it can process. Fortunately, we have a sub-conscious mind, beyond the intellect. An infinite place where we find inspiration, aspiration, passion, creativity, imagination, dreams.

Just need to build a balanced bridge between intellect, intuition. Willing to experiment, lean into inner knowing creates an ‘in-between‘ space. We fall into 8 categories of intuitive sensitivity: clairvoyance (clear seeing), claircognisance (clear knowing), clairaudience (clear hearing), clairempathy (clear emotional feeling), clairsentience (clear physical feeling), clairtangency (clear touching), clairsalience (clear smelling), clairgustance (clear tasting).

Learning to open, trust intuition enriches life in many conceivable ways, boosts self-belief. Ultimately, free of what holds us back from abundance. Inner compass is a loyal companion each step of the way.
