Craving – a powerful desire for something. We have natural cravings for wonderful things like chocolates, ice-creams, alcohol (Tequila for me), cheese etc. Popular food cravings, what they say about emotions, according to psychological research!
Baked sweets (pastries, cakes, candies). Often when working too hard, one to do list to another, feeling exhausted. Not experiencing enough happiness.
Craving for spicy food (chilies, pickles). Most likely a need for creative intensity, action.
Eating lots of salt. Salt is a magnet for movement, helps to go with the flow of life, relax.
Caffeine (coffee, tea). Mostly a need for having it all together, mentally sharp. At it’s core alleviates mental exhaustion.
Crunchy food (crisps, crackers). Mostly when feeling frustrated, restrained. Gives an artificial centre stage feeling.
Chocolates (Dark, milk, truffles). Gives a blanket feel good, sensuous, in love feeling like no other. Contains compounds that alter brain activity.
Soft, filling starches (potatoes, bread, pasta). Squishy, soft, comforting. Mostly when need for some hand holding, hugs for comfort, re-assurance.
Ice creams. Mostly nostalgia, memories of childhood. An innocent feeling of freedom, playfulness, joy.
Cheese. Mostly a need for nurturing. Cheese is made with milk, essence of maternal nourishment. A soothing, grounding, earthy feeling.
Sadly, don’t crave for any of above! Only want my favourite fragrance – Chanel Sensuelle Allure! Absolutely adore but out of stock at airports, stores, been elusive. Even Chanel Allure is such a poor substitute, simply incomparable.
