Email: How can we always be hopeful, despite challenges? (HK)
Hope is a positive emotion to co-create with the universe, to build transformational experiences. How we think about our future matters. What matters most is passion, belief, creativity, tolerance of ambiguity & willingness to act. But, hope can also be overwhelming. Each one has a personal threshold, a saturation point based on our capacity to endure, to persevere. Optimism & faith are better than an overdose of hope. Ensures that hope is not counter-productive. Affirmations help:
- The future will be realistically better than the present
- I will make the most of each moment right now
- I have incredible, intuitive power to make my dreams come true
- There are many vibrant, creative paths to my goals, if I believe
- None of these will be free of obstacles, but I will be the best I honestly can
Hope is innocently biased, makes us do crazy stuff. If we want to truly succeed, to feel fulfilled in life, let’s peacefully balance idealism that gives hope with hard & real facts. We can find sustainable solutions, even if imperfect. We can focus on what’s achievable with curious & innovative flexibility. Sometimes, hope inhibits taking the necessary actions in time with self defeating complacency. We begin to take things for granted. Hoping doesn’t imply doing anything or nothing. We need to take personal responsibility. When hope fails, it’s replaced by ugly hopelessness. So, hope wisely.
