Tricks of the mind…

Reading a few ‘introvert’ blogs. Interestingly, introversion can sometimes become an ‘avoidance method’ for dealing with potentially uncomfortable stuff. Regaining ability to relate to others effectively, can be as easy as acknowledging our fears, test what we’re afraid of.

When we face fears directly, we often discover ideas or circumstances that frightened us are in no way as daunting as we imagined them to be. Doing this requires inner strength but rewards we receive in return is a truly special, wonderful gift.

What initially scares us a little can multiply in incubators of our thoughts, till it reaches unrealistic, dramatic proportions. We anticipate what is to come with disproportionate dread. Accepting this simple fact enables us to focus, overcome our fears.

Eventually, we see fear for what it really is, nothing of significance. Threats we perceived were no more than terrible tricks of our minds.
