‘Worry’ is a totally wasted energy, keeps us procrastinating, blocked or stuck in situations we’d rather not. Worry isn’t worth what it costs – tension, irritability, fatigue, confusion, stress or general unhappiness. After all, most of what we worry about never really happens! We can imagine every what if (often, negatives) to predict or control what’s uncontrollable – the future! How can such a mental state be rewarding? We may think that the act of worrying itself lowers the likelihood of difficult outcomes. But, if we constantly worry, we may never get to test our convictions or beliefs to see if they’re true!
We need to distinguish between caring about situations, doing everything in our power to turn it around rather than worrying needlessly. We say worrying is how we find solutions to problems. However, extreme worry is more likely to interfere with the problem-solving or peace. Instead, we can find ways to quiet the mind, heart & body for a sense of calm. We can make a creative or conscious decision to change the old patterns of being & thinking. Allows us to embrace some uncertainty in a balanced way. We don’t allow any uncertainty to stop us from living the life we desire. It’s an inherent part of living. We can trust our inner guidance & knowing for calculated risks. Each experience teaches significant life lessons, which clearly shows what we’re truly meant to be.
Our present is a powerful tool to reduce worries. We evolve & transform, nothing remains the same. If we resist or over worry, we dis-incentivise the universe to bring us special blessings or surprises. A little worry is intended to protect us from fears, yet we can dwell on many assumptions or illusions. When we face our fears head-on, they tend to diminish. Simple, small steps to change our pre-set mental programming is entirely achievable. We control our thoughts, it’s not the other way around. Let’s seize the day, start living.
