Varieties of colour BLUE differ in hue, chroma or lightness. Variations in value are called tints and shades, a tint being a blue or other hue mixed with white, a shade being mixed with black. My favourites are Royal Blue, Cobalt Blue, Azure, Sapphire, Turquoise.
BLUE represents loyalty, trust, reliability, honesty, coolness, knowledge, power, responsibility, authority.
