Snow Leopards…

Love beautiful Snow Leopard’s! Inhabit alpine elevations from 10,000 to 15,000 ft.

Gorgeous fur is white to gray with black spots on head and neck. Larger rosettes on the back, flanks and bushy tail. Big belly is whitish. Stocky, short-legged, slightly smaller than other cats. Exotic pale green or grey eyes.

Snow Leopard’s show great adaptations for living in cold, mountainous environments. It’s broad paws well distribute weight for walking on snow, thick fur minimises heat loss. Flexible tails help maintain balance in rocky, broken terrains.

Snow Leopard’s can’t roar! Just hiss, chuff, mew, growl, wail. It’s usually solitary, except for females with cubs. Major threat’s to snow leopard is poaching, illegal trade of skins and body parts. Hope we can protect this awesome species.
