Commonality…

Really feel like doing something simple, selfless today, an overflowing sense of empathy for others. Realise the inter-connected nature of everyone we encounter. While our backgrounds, ideas, experiences may be differ, we share the same basic needs.

Spending some quality time planning my volunteering project. Observing teen emotions – sad, happy, rebellious, curious, indifferent, affectionate, reminds me of a time when I felt the same way, funny shared experiences.

Understanding our sensitivity, commonality allows us to serve from a place of inter-dependence rather than self-importance. Developing our softness, calm compassion engenders a feeling of universality. We know trials, tests of other people are quite the same as ours.

Begin to identify with what we share instead of what keeps us apart. Let’s in open-mindedness, balance, humility, compassion, equality. By seeing the sameness in all, we bring true respect, appreciation, creativity, joy when we help others in need.

We make the most of innately positive personality traits when we’re overt, pro-active about using our reserves of energy, charm, capabilities to make others happy.
