Tales of teens…

Work with patients between 13-19 years old’s ‘teenagers‘ at hospital volunteering.  Experiences with teenagers are engaging, insightful, playful. Learning about latest stuff like video games, mobile apps, funny small talk (broken English, tough slangs!), dating anecdotes, infatuations, sexual curiosity, fashion trends, sly family or school stories, frustrations! More engagements, more crazy connections, more questions each day.

Love organising fun group activities, challenging multi-player online games, puzzle solving, trivia, resolving conflicts with family. Teaching chess, English (grammatically correct)! We’ve created a special, sensitive fund-raising program for cancer patients.

Exploring teenage mindsets, ‘rebel without a cause’! Out of box, fresh approaches to ambitions, goals is rewarding. Get to know exactly who they are, how they relate to circumstances (thoughts, emotions). Highly resilient, brave, beautiful people.

Really gratifying to take their minds off challenges, focus on positive healing energies – physical, emotional. Find creative, humorous ways to inspire self-belief, passion, inner strength. Somehow, find innovative ways to squeeze into their heads, hearts – phew!

So loving, keen to learn, receptive to unique perspectives. Love hand-written thank you letters, cute cards, simple gestures of gratitude like smiles, hugs, kisses.
