A balanced lifestyle is simply a state of being in which one has time and energy for both obligations and pleasures, laced with purpose, passion for both. Balance means being whole and complete. Like pieces of a puzzle, many different facets of our being come together to form the person we truly are.

We work and play, rest and expend energy, communicate with our mind and heart, exalt in joy and feel the sorrow. Balance is a state we achieve when all aspects of our life and self are in harmony, aligned with our core intent. Our life force flows in equilibrium.

Balance is necessary to have a truly purposeful, energetic, fulfilling, joyful life. Only we can determine what balance really means to us. No advice or support helps. We decide.

Achieving balance requires we honestly assess what’s truly important. Demands of modern life can push us to make choices that puts us off balance or deviates from our real path. Has a detrimental effect on our behaviours, relationships, health and career.

To create a balanced lifestyle we must ascertain and act on how much time and energy we are willing to devote to different areas of our life. We include family, social circle, solitude, activities that benefit others, health, indulgences and self-growth.

We discover certain elements of our life take up an inordinate amount of energy leaving us with fewer resources to nurture priorities that make us so happy. Chaotic swinging between our material, physical and emotional needs. 

Balance brings self-gratification. It can be a difficult concept to integrate, will never be perfect. Living as much a balanced existence helps us attain a greater sense of healing, hope, harmony, happiness, health – holistic.
