Ladakh (“land of high passes”) is in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. Extends from Siachen Glacier in the Karakoram range to main Great Himalayas. One of the most sparsely populated regions in India, culture closely related to Tibet.

Tanlang La pass is 2nd highest pass in Zanskar range, altitude of 17,600 feet. Chang La is 3rd highest pass, altitude of 5360 metres. Baralacha La Pass, an altitude of 16,000 feet.
