Chose happiness now…

“The meaning of life is just to be alive. It’s so plainly obvious, simple. Yet, everyone rushes around in great panic as if it were necessary to achieve something beyond themselves” – Watts

Love to see our ‘instant modern life’. When hungry, food delivered instantly. Thirst for knowledge, go to Google! Amazing speed at which we can get what we want.

Why do we delay the one thing we want most — ‘happiness‘?

Love to challenge self with big goals, work hard to achieve. Great being ambitious. A problem though when we tell self “I won’t be happy until…happens” or “I won’t be happy until I have…”

Goals are naturally future-based. When we tie happiness to future goals, it becomes a thing in the future. Always choose happiness before how we define success.

There’ll always be more to achieve. First job. Better job. One house. More houses. Work hard, harder still. Keep chasing instead of sing or dance whilst music’s played.

Once we have success we’ll be happy? No, it’s the other way around. There’s no path to genuine happiness, happiness is the path itself.

True happiness brings absolute abundance, passion. An image of success in society doesn’t define our happiness criteria. We create it on our own terms. Prioritise self to attract beauty, opportunities, joy, experiences. Align intuitively with what truly matters.

Believe we’re already complete, already enough. It’s not superficial success we’re after. Don’t want fast cars for the sake of fast cars, but the feeling of fun experiences or sense of freedom. It’s always the feeling we want, crave.

It isn’t wrong to want and receive objects of our desires. Just give up illusion we need ‘worldly’ success to get real happiness or fulfilment. It’s a direction, not a destination.

Choose happiness now. Reset.
