Reminiscing good questions asked in my interviews, while making my own set to ask.

Not the usual, ‘what’s your greatest weakness?’ or ‘tell us a challenge you overcame.

“Who are you” tests our self-awareness, reflection and intuitive ability. Not what we do but what’s our essence, our core being.

“Tell me about your best and worst days at work” ‘Best day’ answers demonstrate what makes us tick, inspires, motivates. ‘Worst day’ answers focus on attitude, taking personal ownership, responsibility when things aren’t as expected.

“What do you do when not at work?’ speaks about our passion, what we truly love.

“You have 2 teleportation devices. Where do you place them, why?’ Open-ended to test our expansive or critical thinking, curiosity to grow and learn.

“If I called your current boss, what would he say about you?” checks honesty, wit, clarity and creativity.

“You have 1,000 unread emails, can only answer 100. How would you choose? highlights our analytical thinking, prioritisation, personal development.

“What colour would you be and why?” reveals our personality traits, preferences in people we interact with.

“You’ve been gifted an elephant. Can’t give it away or sell it. What will you do? checks how we blend logic, reason and emotions, compassion, in a balanced way.

“What’s the wildest thing you’ve ever done” great ice-breaker, checks enthusiasm for out of the box ways of being, humour.

A favourite interview – casual discussion over a walk and coffee, very engaging. Perfect to get a sense of personality, compatibility and observe natural human behaviours.
