Email: Which biggest weakness have you overcome? (AUS)
Felt quite shy and nervous in unfamiliar scenarios. Retreated into self to avoid mistakes, in presence of people I valued. Felt undeserving of the best life had to offer, baseless.
When shyness is selective and situation-dependent versus fixed, we understand it’s temporary or irrational nature. Can consciously get relief from it.
“Who or why was I putting people on a pedestal?” Recognising and re-working the mind, helped bring great comfort. Looked at self with an empowered lens. Stayed receptive, a little vulnerable and faced fears of disapproval or rejection. Opened up to living fully.
Some techniques were:
Kicking pedestal mindset to the curb. We are all unique with special attitudes and abilities. Avoided negative self-sabotage, as thoughts have power. Took initiatives to be a generous conversationalist. Let go of the desire or pressure to be perfect.
Gently pushed self a little out of comfort zone each time, explored new stuff to regain confidence. Was scared to speak up or ask questions but tried hard to be visible.
Working on self-worth and self-value, always. Best situational shyness buster!
Positively affirming we’re deserving, lovable and worthy of everything we want.
