The highest mountain and volcano in our Solar System is on planet Mars.
It’s called Olympus Mons.
27 kms high. 3 times higher than Mt. Everest. Crater – 85 kms wide, 600 kms – base.
A result of many 1000’s of highly fluid, basaltic lava flows from volcanic vents. Shape similar to large volcanoes in Hawaiian Islands. A gentle sloping profile.
Olympus Mons covers an area of about 300,000 km2, the size of Italy or Arizona. Incredible!
