Email: Do you think traditions are important? (Pakistan)
Absolutely. Traditions are a critical piece of our culture like native music, cuisine. It creates healthy structures, builds our identities, binds foundations of what matters. It’s stories, beliefs and customs, passed from one generation to next.
Tradition gives a sense of belonging, brings people together, meaningfully.
Tradition reinforces values such as freedom, faith, integrity, diversity, personal responsibility and service. We appreciate what lies within our traditional frameworks and are also willing to blend new, merged experiences to add lustre to it (Peranakan way of living, fusion of Chinese and Malays).
It creates lasting memories, an excellent context for purposeful reflections, challenges.
