Email: Are you competitive? (US)
Great question. With nothing to compare yourself to, aren’t you perfect! – B. Katie
Never really liked competition, puts pressure, disconnects from others. Love harmony, collaboration, win-win scenarios. No desire to feel a superior authority. Have accepted loss or let others lead, if it made dear ones happy.
In some cultures competing is perceived as a sign of ambition, power, strength. Most of us grew up with constant comparisons. Teachers comparing students, parents comparing children, with their friends. Ignorance of individual personality traits, dreams, talents.
Better to compete with self. Doing our very best is more important, than being the best.
At one point, felt not beautiful, smart or successful enough, desperate to be perfect. All mere illusions. We are unique and wonderful. Worked on self-love, self-belief. Built trust and passion for self to feel confident, worthy and inspired.
Set myself free to ‘create’, not compete…
