Email: A student from Beijing. Do you like Chinese food?
Ha ha…
My favourite cuisine is Sichuan.
“It’s a spicy, sensualist food that can burn you down to a charred, smoking little stump” – Bourdain
Enjoyed my visit to Chengdu and Chongqing, sailing over Asia’s longest river, Yangtze. Unforgettable interactions with gorgeous, giant Pandas.
Relished it’s sizzling and distinctive cuisine “one dish, one shape, hundreds of dishes, hundreds of tastes”, as they say. Love the spicy, hot, fresh, bold and fragrant hot pots. Crazy numbing after effects, devilishly exquisite.
Favourite dishes are boiled spicy beef in hot pepper sauce, dandan noodles and ma po tofu.
Memorable experiences during exclusive private tastings with ‘iron chef’, Chen Kenmin and his son, Chen Kenichi.
Cook at home with the ‘five fragrances’ of fennel, pepper, aniseed, cinnamon, cloves, chili and Sichuan peppers.
Always keen on a Sichuan adventure.
