Amelia Earhart

“Anticipation I suppose, sometimes exceeds realisation. Adventure is worthwhile, in itself.”

What a privilege to share my birth date with Amelia Mary Earhart, born 24th July, 1897, an American aviation pioneer & author. She truly inspires me.

Earhart was the first female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. An unbelievable spirit of discovery, courage, freedom and conviction, beyond admiration and respect.

“The most difficult thing is the decision to act. Rest is merely tenacity. You can do anything, you decide to do. The process is it’s own reward.”

She received United States Distinguished Flying Cross, wrote best-selling books about her amazing flying and engineering experiences.

1937, during an attempt to make a circumnavigational flight of the globe, in a Purdue-funded Lockheed Model 10-E Electra, Earhart disappeared over the central Pacific ocean..

“Amelia Earhart came perhaps before her time…smiling, confident, capable,  a deeply compassionate human being, one we can all be proud of knowing.”

My fascination with her incredible life, her curious dreams & disappearance, continues to this day.
