Sex in a glass…

There’s abstract mystery and magic in Pinot Noir, it’s a lifelong pursuit. God made Cabernet Sauvignon, but the Devil made Pinot Noir…!

Pinot Noir’s natural home is Burgundy, Côte-d’Or in France.

Pinot Noir wines are most popular in the world. Vanity Fair describes it as “the most romantic of wines, with so voluptuous a perfume, so sweet an edge, and so powerful a punch, like falling in love, they make the blood run hot and poetic.”

Sommelier Triffon says Pinot is “subtly alluring and erotic, sex in a glass.”

“They call it the heartbreak grape, so stubborn, so seductive, so particular, so elusive, so damn difficult to get right. When at it’s best, it’s the most sublime wine, incomparable”

“It’s makers are lunatic fringe, questers after the holy grail” (wine writers)

It’s beautiful bouquets, flavours, textures and impressions are classy. Ranges from light to medium body, aromas reminiscent of black or red cherry, cranberry, raspberry, mulberry, other berries. Earthy, silky, smokey, floral smells of roses, vanilla, violets, caramel, nuts and fruits.

Absolutely complex, secretive, sensuous, velvety, irresistibly charming, elegant, intense, playful finesse. Wine’s colour when young is garnet, lighter with age.

A rare Grand Cru from Côte de Nuit’s by Domaine Romanée-Conti retails for $15,000-$25,000 per bottle. Save the heartbreak, many gorgeous, affordable ranges are available.

Nostalgic, travelled on an exotic wine tour to Burgundy. Simply cycled around, indulging in tempting wine tastings at prestigious chateaux’s and vineyards…hedonistic pleasure!
